Lymphatic Drainage
Lymphatic Drainage is a special type of bodywork that helps reduce inflammation, swelling, bloating, improve circulation, enhance immune health, and strengthen metabolic function.
This magnificent system is responsible for nourishing the body and circulating hormones, proteins, cells, and nutrients to the tissues. It is considered the river of the body ~ when lymph flows, everything else does.
Lymphatic Drainage Massage can help with:
• Fluid Retention & Hydration • Scar Tissue healing • Digestive discomfort • Balancing Hormones
• Clearing Sinus Congestion • Improving the appearance of the skin
• Speeding up Post-Surgery healing • Joint pain reduction
• Feeling less heavy, sluggish, or lethargic • Improving energy + mood
Using the light to medium, pumping massage techniques of the traditional Vodder Technique, along with integration of gentle medi-cupping, to stimulate the lymph nodes and support the body in eliminating accumulated cellular waste, reduce inflammation, and promote rehydration. As lymphatic fluid is moved, it circulates healing white blood cells and other nutrients, clears out blockages that hinder the function of the immune system and digestive tract, and helps in rebalancing hormones
This type of massage is incredibly relaxing in nature and includes some digestive massage, aromatherapy, and a touch of energy work to help soothe the nervous system. If you’re experiencing muscle soreness or stiffness, your therapist may include a little targeted massage to that area, if there is time.

Lymphatic Drainage after surgery helps the body heal faster, more effectively and enhances your results. Since lymphatic vessels have been damaged during the surgical procedure, lymphatic pathways need assistance in reconstructing themselves so that fluid can be moved away from surgical sites.
This special massage redirects the lymph fluid to specific regions of your body rich in healthy lymph nodes so that toxins and cellular waste can be filtered and removed from the body. The practitioner has advanced training and certification in Post-Surgery Lymphatic Drainage and is knowledgeable of where NOT to direct fluid after surgery since normal lymph pathways have been damaged.
A medicupping machine is integrated into these sessions during certain stages of healing, to help reduce fibrosis (hard lumps), direct the flow of lymph, and stimulate the lymph nodes to release old fluid. This feels like a soft vacuum that lifts and creates space under the tissue layers. A fusion of Vodder techniques and Brazilian Body Sculpting techniques are used as we progress along your healing journey. Arnica may also be used during your appointment to help with bruising.
Post-Surgey Lymphatic Drainage Massage

You will need to schedule several lymphatic drainage massages following surgery. This is because the body has its own healing timeline and will need anywhere from 2-4 months to heal properly. The type of surgery you receive will determine the frequency of sessions.
We advise scheduling your first MLD appointment within the first week (ideally after the first 2 days) of your surgery.
For joint replacement:
schedule your 1st appointment within 2 days after your surgery
schedule 3-4 appointments within the first two-weeks post-surgery
your practitioner can guide you on how many sessions and what frequency you may need following
For BBLs, Liposuction, and/or Blepharoplasty:
schedule your 1st appointment within 2 days after your surgery
schedule 3-4 appointments within the first two-weeks post-surgery
your practitioner can guide you on how many sessions and what frequency you may need following
For Tummy Tucks, Breast Augmentation, and/or Face Lifts:
schedule your 1st appointment within 4 days after your surgery
schedule 3-4 appointments within the first two-weeks post-surgery
your practitioner can guide you on how many sessions and what frequency you may need following
Recent face injections, botox, or filler:
wait 3 weeks to schedule any facial lymphatic drainage
Recent chemical peel, microdermabrasion, or threading:
wait 1 week to schedule any facial lymphatic drainage
If you have had a combination of surgeries:
(for example: a Breast Augmentation and Lipo and/or a BBL) you can schedule the soonest recommended appointment and your practitioner will know what can and cannot be worked during that first visit and will integrate the necessary work in other areas on your next visit. How long should each follow-up appointment be?
To allow for enough time during each appointment, please use these guidelines for scheduling after your First Appointment:60 minute follow-ups: If you have had surgery on 1-3 areas of the body and NOT the face.
75 minute follow-ups: If you have had surgery on 3-4 areas of the body OR 1 area and the face.
