Cupping Therapy Massage
This type of massage integrates cupping therapy with hands-on massage. Cupping is used to create space within the several layers of tissue to allow nutrient absorption, fluid and energy flow, and tissue decompression.
Various techniques and cups may be used during your session. A Medicupping™ machine, is integrated, which helps direct the flow of blood and lymph. This feels like a soft vacuum that lifts and creates space under the tissue layers; it’s gentle vibration also has a calming effect on the nervous system.
If any ‘cup kisses’ are visible after your session, note these are not bruises - it’s old blood that has been stuck between the compressed tissue layers that has not been able to flow. The darker the marks, the longer the stagnation. Over time, the marks should become less visible because circulation has been improved.
* If you are prone to edema, skin ulcers, or have any other skin condition, it is best to consult with your dermatologist or physician first. If you are being treated for hemophilia, are prone to blood clotting, or have any other bleeding disorder, cupping may not be for you as you may be at risk for significant bruising. Please consult with your doctor before committing to a cupping therapy treatment.
